San Francisco Intro to Python Programming (3 Sessions)
Python is a popular and powerful programming language that has long been a preferred backend tool in web development and is also quickly becoming the de-facto language of Data Science.
This workshop is a hands-on introduction to Python programming for absolute beginners, with a focus on programming fundamentals and how you can use code to solve real-world problems. In this class, we will also discuss Python's role in the Data Science workflow, and dive into how to use Python for basic data analysis.
This bootcamp is designed to teach core Python coding concepts through practical examples and guided practice, and is the basis of a semester-long course that the instructor is teaching at Harvard University this fall.
In this class, you will:
- learn the basic tools and techniques you need to start programming in Python.
- learn how to do basic data analysis using Python.
- gain an understanding of how to solve a complex problem using code.
- get hands-on experience writing Python code.
How our sessions work
We host these live online classes out of our office in Cambridge, MA. Guests tune in online to watch the live presentations. During each session as well as in between, we set up a Slack channel where students can collaborate and/or submit questions and have them answered by the instructor. You'll be sent the webinar access information and Slack invitation the week before the start of the course.
This online-only bootcamp has three sessions, from 6:30pm - 8.00pm EST on August 16, 23 and 30.
