The Northern California Chapters of AWIS (East Bay, Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Sacramento) invite you to our annual summer potluck picnic on Saturday, August 12th.


Come join us for a casual get together and great food at the Northern California Chapters Annual Summer Picnic. This is a great opportunity to network with scientists from the Bay Area to Sacramento Valley while enjoying the beautiful park.

 

FUTURE: Campus-Side Career Chat - Careers in Emerging Technology

***For Masters students, Ph.D. students, Postdoctoral scholars*** A monthly career exploration meet-up with a professional with a STEM Ph.D. in a non-professoriate STEM career. This month learn how to break into a career in industry research with Dr. Handeep Kaur, a Technology Strategist working at Intel Corporation. Pizza will be served. Space for each meetup is limited so we strongly recommend that postdocs and grad students RSVP.

Water Quality Health Indicator & Data Science Symposium presented by SWAMP

The Water Boards’ Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program (SWAMP) is hosting the Water Quality Health Indicator and Data Science Symposium. This is an annual event that aims to:

daylight surface water quality data, insights and interests on California surface water quality topics

better connect data, information, and knowledge to water quality stakeholders and decision makers; and

create a networking community to enhance better communication throughout the year.

The Jump: Conversations on Career Transitions

This month our featured guest is UC Davis alumnus, Brad Fenwick, D.V.M., Ph.D., who is Elsevier's Senior Vice President for Global Strategic Alliances bridging the gap between a major academic research publisher and universities!
